Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

  • The program is open to all current employees of business registered with NZ Championeers Club.
  • Employees who have previously won a prize are encouraged to continue submitting improvement ideas, but are only eligible to receive the cash prize once per Program Year.

Program Period & Selection

  • The current program runs from February 2026 to January 2027 inclusive.
  • A maximum of forty (40) winning ideas will be selected over the course of the Program Year.
  • There may be multiple winners announced in a given month. Once all 40 winners have been selected, the prize program will conclude for the remainder of that Program Year.

Submission Guidelines

  • All workplace improvement ideas must be submitted using either the designated physical drop box located at your place of work or via the official online form via
    www.nzchampioneers.co.nz

Evaluation and Prizes

  • Submitted ideas will be evaluated by the Panel based on feasibility, safety, cost-effectiveness, and potential impact.
  • The workplace reserves the right to accept or dismiss any submitted idea. There is no guarantee that an idea will be implemented.
  • Winners will receive a Championeers Trophy and a cash prize of up to $1000.
  • The prize will be awarded upon the formal acceptance and commencement of implementation of the idea by the workplace.

Intellectual Property and Promotion

  • By submitting an idea, employees grant New Zealand Championeers the right to use, modify, and implement the suggestion without any further compensation beyond the awarded prize.
  • Winners agree to participate in reasonable internal promotional activities newsletters, blog posts and social media content related to the New Zealand Championeers Club.
  • Any formal publications or presentations resulting from the implemented improvement ideas must acknowledge the support of the New Zealand Championeers Club.

General Conditions

  • Winners are responsible for any personal tax implications that may arise from receiving the cash prize.
  • New Zealand Championeers reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or cancel the program at any time without prior notice.

  • Identity and Contact Details: Name, email address, phone number, and employment details (where applicable for the Workplace program).
  • Submission Data: The content of your submitted ideas, which may include business concepts, operational plans, financial projections, and intellectual property.

We use the information collected strictly for the administration of our programs, specifically to:

  • Evaluate your submitted ideas for feasibility, impact, and eligibility.
  • Contact you regarding the status of your submission, potential selection, and prize/funding distribution.
  • Administer and improve our program offerings.

Sharing Your Information

To ensure a fair and rigorous evaluation, your submission data and necessary identifying information will be shared with our external expert advisory panel. This panel works across both the Workplace Ideas and Growth Fund schemes and is bound by strict confidentiality requirements. We do not sell or share your personal information with any other third parties, except as required by New Zealand law.

Data Security and Retention

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information and intellectual property from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We take measures to ensure your data is safely removed from our active servers once the evaluation process is complete and the information is no longer required for record-keeping or program administration.

Website Analytics & Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use our website. This helps us improve your experience. GA4 collects:

  • Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
  • Your approximate location (city-level, IP addresses are anonymised)
